Well there we go, putting our foot in it. We had a whinge about the crappy tasks a week ago and now here we go and get two bloody fantastic tasks in one night!
Part one of the task asked the housemates to complete a short obstacle course blindfolded, and guided by the other housemates. The housemates had to crawl through a plastic tunnel ('Get your arse down Jade' they cried. Classic.) then go over some steps and go a long a bench before taking an egg from a table, then crossing the garden to place it in another egg cup. Each egg successfully placed on the final table was worth £25 of shopping. Just in case they were crap, the housemates were given £25 to start with, although in the end they managed to get £250 by collecting 9 of 10 eggs.

The best was yet to come though, with part two of the task being quite possibly the best ever Big Brother task. The housemates, now having won £250, had to bet any amount they wanted on the outcome of a race. But instead of some recorded race, Big B really had a great idea - an egg and spoon race run by former housemates. So the housemates had to bet on whether PJ, Spencer, Lee or his new-girlfriend Sophie would win, with the following odds:
PJ - 2/1 Joint favourite
SPENCER - 2/1 Joint favourite
SOPHIE - 3/1
LEE - 8-1 Outsider
Initially everyone though PJ would win, but Kate pointed out that although Sophie would be slower, she wouldn't drop her egg as the others were likely to do. They decided to stake £50 on Sophie and sat to watch the race.
Lee dropped his egg very early on, but Sophie trailed as PJ and Spencer raced up the course. They crossed the finish line together and it seemed all was lost, but a photo-finish revealed that both had dropped their egg BEFORE crossing the line, which left only one contender still holding their egg as they crossed the finish - Sophie!
This left the four housemates with a whopping shopping budget of £400 between the 4 of them.
It's just like buses. You wait 8 weeks for a decent task and two come along at once. The blindfolded assault course was original and good to watch - we were cheering for Jonny to get the 9th egg in an egg cup as the time nearly ran out. The brilliant ex-housemate race was fantastic and whoever thought it up is a genius. well done BB, you redeemed yourselves, although right at the last minute...
