So how has new-boy Tim fared since his arrival in the house? Entering on the rich side, it's natural to assume his first allegiances will be made there. And what is the initial public reaction of posh Tim? Are the Big Brother producers yet again showing inaptitude in selecting housemates?
Tim entered the house on Sunday at 7pm, live on E4's Big Brother's Little Brother(Dermot O'Leary is getting as many exclusives as Davina!) to find the house empty! It wasn't really, the housemates were outside perfecting the song they had been composing all day in honour of their new arrival.
Tim has initially hit it off with Alex - as the pair both have lived in Hong Kong and are the only 2 boys on the rich side. Jade is excited, but this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Tim himself, the dental nurse has been looking forward to his arrival since Sandy left. PJ is looking to be a contender for Tim's affections, just to annoy Alex we suppose, but no real emotions have been shown for Tim as yet.
As far as the public goes, Tim isn't doing too well - he is proving unpopular and as one BBLB viewer noted 'like Alex... but without the funny bits'
All which begs the question - why did the producers pick Tim? He doesn't seem like someone who will create a bang in the house, more on a Sophie style damp-squib. There's not much to hate about him, but he doesn't seem likely to cause a stir either.
From a viewer's point of view, the BB producers seem very unprepared and mis-informed this year. What with numerous technical problems in the house (we took a sadistic pleasure watching Big B squirm as the divide doors wouldn't open on Saturday), to nice-enough-but-are-they-really-interesting-enough-to-warrant-my-time housemates; Big Brother isn't really tougher... just more boring. The lack of tasks mean all the housemates can do is chat. And when 29-year olds such as Jonny have 'never been away from me family for more'n two weeks', there isn't a lot of life experience to share.
Let's hope Tim can improve the house - or this could easily be the last BB series in the UK. ratings are down this year and TV is fickle about shows on the wane. Join our task campaign to bring back the tasks!
