Sandy did it! Instead of waiting for Big Brother to sort themselves out, Sandy decided to leave of his own accord, as the following pictures show...
In Jack Dee style (from Celebrity Big Brother) Sandy shinned up the garden trellis, and made his way up on to the roof. He had joked to Alex earlier in the morning he would escape, which the Essex-lad took as a joke, but the veteran Scotsman kept his word...
Sandy appeared on Big Brother's Little Brother with Dermot O'Leary (getting a lot of work this year...) tonight at 7pm to explain his reasons for escaping.
He declared he was bored of the house and had had enough. In an interview with his wife Claire, Sandy said he would only want to see Adele and Alex again, and made the point that 'although we're all called housemates, they're not your mates', made in reference to the fact that Sandy didn't get on with everyone.
Sandy doesn't regret the experience, and would do it all again, but said that 'people need mental and physical stimulation and there just wasn't any... your body just can't take it any more'.
Sandy had hinted that he was going to escape, making reference to 'Plan A[the front door], Plan B[the back door] and then Plan C[over the top]', as well as telling Alex in the morning he was going to get out in his own way. Sandy made his escape to the cheers of his housemates. Sandy doubts that they'll miss him for long, but in typical Sandy-fashion replies that he feels exactly the same way. Sandy plans to go away for the weekend, and be back at work next week.
Sandy's escape seems to have spurred others too - Lee has told Sophie that if he is not evicted on Friday, he will leave on Saturday. In a frank chat today, the four awake housemates, Sophie, Lee, Adele and Alex talked of their distrust of Kate, and also Lee's reasons for wanting to go - missing football, boredom, and being able to go on holiday if he goes now. Will Lee be the 3rd person to walk? Does Big Brother not get the message that the housemates aren't happy? Bring back the tasks! Give the housemates something to do!
