We hate to keep criticising Big Brother, after all, we never miss an episode and make this site in honour of it, but we don't think we're the only ones left feeling a little flat after tonight's so-called 'task' show. After massive hype, surrounding by rumours all week, and a promise from Davina that the housemates would have to make their 'ultimate sacrifice', we were really very excited by the prospect of the 10pm live show.

Rumours were flying that the person with the most votes after Adele (ie Jade) would be evicted, or the housemate failing the task would be evicted live. Other suggestions included losing either the 'rich' bedroom or bathroom in return for the fall of the divide, or that housemates would lose their shopping budget.

Instead, the task ran as follows, well as we remember it anyway:

• The voiceover tells us that the divide has been removed and reminds us of the 'ultimate sacri-' blah blah. By the way, we'd really like to see the production crew remove the divide, wouldn't you?
• Housemates leave the bedrooms and find the divide gone. Woo-hoo. Celebrate. Jade shouts loudly. PJ and Alex hug. Kate smiles at Jonny.
• 'Open envelope 1'
• Alex scans through quickly and looks shocked. 'Sit down everyone' he says. 'Tonight you must decide which two of you will receive a message from your family. However, the two housemates you pick as a group will be up for eviction this week and Monday's nominations are cancelled. You have 7 minutes to make your choice.'
• Jade, talking over everyone confuses the instructions thinking everyone will be up for eviction. Jonny is then confused, Alex explains again, slower.
• PJ checks no-one wants to choose to be up for nomination first. No-one does!
• After Kate's idea is dismissed as unfair (the guess-the-hand game), Tim suggests straws. As they have no straws, the housemates use paper instead.
• With 5 minutes still to go (coincidentally to the ad break as well...), the housemates quickly pick pieces of paper and PJ and Kate lose.
• PJ and Kate are up for nomination. What more could happen Big B?
• Alex goes to the Diary Room after the 7 minutes are up to give the result. However, for some reason Big Brother calls him before the ad break, so Alex has to sit for 3 minutes, asking Big Brother why he has to wait.
• Alex confirms, twice, that Kate and PJ are up for eviction.
• Big Brother confirms, in case we didn't know, that Kate are PJ ARE UP FOR EVICTION. Gosh this is exciting!

• Kate and PJ receive messages from home. There is a little excitement as PJ's clip begins with a shot of Jonny's mam, but after realising he is talking over PJ's mum, Jonny's shuts up. PJ cries. Kate gets a message. She cries. 'That was so worth it.' PJ says, although whether he's being ironic is hard to tell.
• Well... erm congratulations for passing the task!
• That's it. No sacrifice. No task even. No excitement. And now not even nominations. And we'll leave it to you to guess who'll go this week... 2nd favourite to win Kate or nobody-PJ? The decision is yours, well if you can be bothered, Big Brother couldn't this week.

What was that about? We felt so hollow after that show we reckon Alison could have made a new home inside us. There was no excitement. At all. What sacrifice did the housemates have to make? Oh no, two people are up for nomination. No change there. There wasn't even a task as such, unless you call picking straws a task. It was intensely boring to see the housemates reasonably choose by chance the two nominees. Great for them, no stress about nominations or 'who the can trust', but crap telly. And bad production too - why soften the harsh blow of the task by saying the nominees will be rewarded with a great prize? And why make Alex wait through the ad break. If we were Big Brother, we would have made it much more exciting, why not pick your favourite alternative from below, all rumours around before we knew what a disappointment the task would be.

OPTION ONE -
The housemates must do an individual task, like the darts or basketball challenge. The two losers are up for nomination.

OPTION TWO -
The housemates must choose whether to evict the person with the second highest number of votes(Jade, Kate or Jonny, remember they don't know) or lose the shopping budget and rich bathroom.

OPTION THREE -
Unless the housemates pass the task, everyone will be up for eviction and the public will vote out who they like the least.

OPTION FOUR -
The public vote all week and the housemates must decide who to evict from the two the public choose, in a Lynne-Jade style choice.
