Rumours have been rife this week, on subjects from dubious eviction voting to the divide coming down. babyBROTHER takes a look at the rumours...
Massive rumours have surrounded this weeks evictions. At the beginning of the week, Jade was hotly tipped to go, but the tide has gradually turned towards Adele. There has always been a public dislike for Adele (which we disagree strongly with here at babyBROTHER) but was it ever MORE than for Jade?
At the beginning of the week, Ananova reported that Jade's mother had asked that Jade be removed from the house via the back door to avoid the braying public. It is widely accepted that Jade would be unable to handle the public opinion of her, and that the producers should avoid making Jade do the walk of shame.
The rumours are therefore rife that the eviction has been fixed so that Adele will go, regardless of the public vote. There was an 'error' this week with text voting, and O2 apologised, claiming that the correct number of votes had been logged, despite many users receiving multiple confirmations of their vote. This convenient error would make it very easy to cover up any fixing, as a large number of votes are made via text.
There is also a lot of suspicion surrounding Channel 4 shows being used to convince viewers to axe Adele, with the presenters V Graham Norton and RI:SE ALL, conveniently against Adele.
The Channel 4 shows often come under scrutiny for appearing to favour one housemate over another, but as each show is produced by a different person, the bias is spread through the week so it usually has little overall effect in appearing biased to or for one particular housemate. However, this week, there has been, under babyBROTHER's analysis, almost double the amount of footage featuring Adele than Jade. The vast majority of this footage features Adele bitching about other housemates, which contrasts very interestingly with the fact that Jade appears not to be bitching at all. Fair enough, it's reasonable to assume that Adele has just been bitching more, but official Channel 4 website stories don't back this up.
The other main rumour from the week is also strangely linked to Adele and Jade. Big Brother confirmed last week that the divide would definitely be coming down, no matter what, but the housemates would have to pay the price for it. babyBROTHER speculated a possible automatic nomination process for people who didn't pass the task, but Digital Spy has a far more interesting rumour - another eviction. The non-nominated housemates this week (Tim, Alex and PJ) would have to choose another housemate to leave, in return for the divide's removal.
Each on their own, these rumours and speculations are nothing more than conjecture. But put together, they proffer a very interesting story:
Like we hurry to stress, all conjecture, but with all the rumors tied together, there's a tidy little story... not one that we'll ever know the truth of however. The most likely explanation, is, of course that we're just bitter eedgits who wanted Adele to stay and are trying to justify it! Then again you never know...
