Lynne became the first evictee of Big Brother 2002 in what turned out to be a horrible night. Added to the awful 'surprise' of the nominations and subsequent voting by the other housemates was the cruel show put on by guests at the house exit.
The first eviction came as a surprise to the housemates, who were unaware that the nation was nominating their two least favourite contestants. Worse still was the fact that the safe housemates then had to decide amongst themselves who should be the first to go. They were all visibly shocked as Davina announced that they were live on Channel 4, and found the voting process quite traumatic. Jade and Lynne were confined in the boy's bedroom as they had the most votes, whilst the others went round in a circle and chose who to leave.
PJ was particularly enthusiastic about giving reasons - probably so he could give his reason -
"I don't like her [Lynne] and we haven't got on since day one"
Lynne comforted a distraught Jade with a surprising show of confidence, although she admitted later she hadn't thought she would go. Cracks showed though when she asked everyone to "p*** off and give me some space"
Things got worse though as Lynne left the house to boos. Davina was visibly annoyed by this callous show, which included banners proclaiming slogans such as "EVIL LYNNE". Lynne was rushed inside by Davina, who tried to comfort her as cruel onlookers continued their tirade of abuse at the housemate who we have only 'known' for 7 days. Later in her interview, Lynne put on a brave face, but showed she was nervous by half-jokingly saying she didn't want to be known as the 'most hated woman in Britain'.
found it terrible to watch Lynne leave to such a horrible audience, and our heart goes out to her for smiling through it. Let's face it, the worst she did was have a go at Spencer for being arrogant and smelly. And if we can just remind you that Spencer is yet to shower in the house, and also has not yet helped prepare a meal for the other housemates. He also invited himself into the girls bedroom once Sunita left, without asking anyone. We find Spencer and PJ self-centered, arrogant idiots, and while Lynne shouldn't have had a go at Spencer in public, she wasn't making wild accusations, and is hardly deserving of the title, 'evil'. Never before has
felt so strongly about Big Brother, especially the hurtful behaviour of us, the public, towards her. We hope people don't continue in this fashion, and wish all the best to the Aberdeen lass.
