As the oldest member of the house, sandy was at a disadvantage from the start - and he found it hard to join the main group which he found boring.
The kilt-wearing Scotsman became famous for being up early every morning and doing laps of the 5m pool in the garden. His two friends in the house were the other two early-risers, Adele and Alex.
Sandy took the view that Big Brother is an unnatural situation and that it was unrealistic to think you could get on with everybody. He found Jonny and Alison, and their 'basic' humour hard to bear, and could often be seen sat alone in the garden.
By Week 3, Sandy was bored out of his skull. Being stuck with two people he couldn't stand on the rich side of the house didn't help, and Sandy hoped he would be nominated and evicted, claiming afterwards to Alex he had tried his hardest to nominated!
When he found he wasn't, 'Plan C' had to come into action, and Sandy told Big Brother he was leaving. However, the Scot decided he couldn't wait for Big Brother to sort things out and decided to escape, up the garden trellis and over the roof - back into the real world. The others were watching football, and were shocked to see the 43 year-old leap at the wall, and make it over the house roof.
In an interview afterwards, sandy said he was just bored of the house, and that there was nothing to do, and that he wouldn't see any of the housemates again, except maybe Adele and Alex.
He may not have been the most exciting housemate, but Sandy was someone to look up to in the house, and we think the house will change now he's gone. And that escape footage will be shown for years to come. Run Sandy run, run, run...
